Hatten was born in Oakland, California.[2] He graduated from Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television in 2016. Shay Hatten is an American screenwriter and producer best known for his work on John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and Army of the Dead (2021). Hatten started his career by writing several films including John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and the Netflix film Army of the Dead (2021). He is currently developing scripts for the upcoming action thriller Ballerina, a spinoff of the John Wick franchise, Maximum King!, which focuses on Stephen King during production on his only directorial feature film, Maximum Overdrive, and (Future) Cult Classic, a satirical television series.
